The South Atlantic domain is one of the most classical rift-to-spreading systems on earth. To better understand continental rifting and break-up processes that played a role during the opening of the ocean, we use numerical and analogue models. In this movie, I explain how to make an analogue model with different rheological segments, using silicon putty and sand. Of course not all models are succesful. It's a competition which model wibe South Atlantic's Next Top Model.
